Nestabling and Nestaboard from Want2Scrap

Diamonds may be a girls best friend but BLING is a crafter's!  At least it is mine anyways.  When it comes to bling, Want2Scrap has us covered.  Scrap-Mart carries both Nestabling and Nestaboard.  If you are not familiar with these products, you should definitely give them a try.  Both products are designed to work in conjunction with Spellbinders Products.

Nestaboard is chipboard that is pre-cut in your favorite Nestabilities shapes so all you have to do is cut your paper/cardstock and adhere it to the Nestaboard.  It gives your product stability and added dimension.

Nestabling is rhinestones shapes that are designed to fit perfectly over your cut Nestabilities shapes.  You can even layer them on top of Nestaboard for a totally different look.

Here is a beautiful card from well-known designer, Nina Brackett...

Sending-Smiles-detail

Here, Nina used Spellbinders Labels Eighteen for her backgroung shape and stamped it with one of her stamp sets.  Then, she covered Fancy Tags Two Nestaboard with paper she cut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two dies then topped it with Fancy Tags Two Pearl Nestabling.

Spellbinders: Tri-fold Carraige Card

I don't know about you, but it seems to me that almost everyone I know is pregnant or having a baby!  I am in need of many cards and gifts and this fun tri-fold carraige card is top on my list to make.

This adorable card was created by Spellbinders designer Kazan Clark.  Here are the itmes you will need to recreate it yourself...

Grand Calibur Machine

S5-033 Bird Sanctuary

S5-072 Blossom Tags & Accents

S5-048 Sprightly Sprockets

S4-114 Standard Circles Lg

You will also need some patterned paper of your choosing, a scoring tool, white cardstock and some glue dots.  Don't forget ther ribbon, buttons and a little wooden stick or toothpick.

Here's how Kazan created this amazing card...

I started out by folding my cardstock into 3 sections to fit the size of my die template. I used one of the blossom shapes from Blossom Tags and Accents. It is important here to make sure that two of the cutting edges of the Blossom die template overlap the folded sides of the card. I secured my die template to the cardstock using some repositioning tape.

The cardstock that I used was not a very heavy weight so I was able to cut/emboss through all 3 sections of my card at once using the Grand Calibur® Machine.

Cutting several pieces of paper at once is something worth experimenting with your die templates - it can save a ton of time especially on projects that require multiple cut-outs of the same shape. I was able to cut 3 shapes of the patterned paper using my Standard Circles Lg die template. I did have to run the sandwich through twice to ensure that the cut went through all 3 layers. Remember the more intricate the die template the harder it may be to cut more than one of certain papers simultaneously.

After adhering my patterned paper to my circle tri-fold card I folded my card and lightly traced the carriage opening (which resembles a wedge) with a pencil. I trimmed through all three sheets of paper to complete my carriage design.

I used Sprightly Sprockets for my carriage wheels. I wanted my tri-fold card to stand freely so I cut 3 sets of wheels and adhered them all in the exact same position on each of the carriage shapes.

After die cutting the bird shape and adhering the bow I finished off my card by embellishing it with buttons and a flag sentiment.

*NEW* Heartfelt Creations My Guy Collection

If you're anything like me, you may struggle to come up with masculine projects. I am a girly girl. I like my flowers and ribbon and bling. Well, Heartfelt Creations' newest release, My Guy, will put a dent in my struggles from now on. Check out these projects from the Heartfelt design team...

This card, by Angelica Turner, would be perfect for an anniversary or even a birthday. She used the My Kind of Guy precut set, Birch Tree precut set and the Western Broncos die.

Instructions: Size: 6" x 6" Cut a piece of patterned paper, ink edges with old paper distress ink, mat with green cardstock, attach a silver brad in each corner. Stamp image from "My Kind of Guy" twice on cream cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat emboss with silver embossing powder, one image trim rectangle close to image and ink edges with distress ink, second image cut the words "My Kind Of Guy" with scissors and adhere to first image with pop dots, mat image on green cardstock, punch left and right borders with border punch, adhere silver outline border sticker to edge of stamped image, adhere little silver circle stickers to punched border, adhere image to base of card with pop dots. With hat and boot image from "Birch Tree" set, stamp hat 3 times and boot twice on white cardstock with black ink, color with markers and cut with coordinating dies. For the hat, trim each image to layer and make a dimensional image, adhere with pop dots. Add some hemp and make a bow, secure bow with silver brad, adhere the hat and boots with pop dots.

Lisa Blastick created this awesome layout with the Western Bronco Precut set, Western Sentiments precut set, Western Broncos die and the Window Accents precut set.

Instructions: Cut 1 x 8 inch cream cardstock x4 and stamp in brown ink with “Window Accents” then emboss and add brads to corners to make the frame. Stamp in brown ink “Western Bronco” horses, 1 small and 1 large, emboss, and diecut with “Western Broncos” Stamp “just the MY and the GUY in blue ink, with “Western Sentiments” emboss and fussy cut out. Cut 7 stars 5 in kraft cardstock and 2 in brown cardstock. Ranging from 1.5inches to 2.25inches. crimp 3 of the stars and the other 2 stars glue on the brown cardstock, then glue the “Western Sentiments” down add pop dots. Punch or cut 4 scalloped circles and punch holes on the ends, use crimper. Distress all papers and layer as shown. Add Crafters cord over both sets of stars. Place horses on bottom right corner.

This wonderful home decor piece was created by desinger Caroline Duncan.  She used the Birch Tree precut set, Western Bronco precut set, Western Broncos die, Morning on the Farm precut set, Mystic Hideaway precut set and the Scenery Builders precut set.

Wood disc is approx. 10.5 x 7 inches. All images are stamped with Archival Jet Black ink. Stamp the Birch Trees directly on wood disc and a second time on copy paper for a mask. You do not need to cut out between the trees. Mask the tree and stamp foliage portion as needed to fill up the space. Stamp Small Horse on wood disc. Die cut a Small Horse from copy paper to use as a mask. Mask the horse and stamp the Barn. Stamp a Barn on copy paper and cut out for mask. Mask the barn and small horse. Stamp the Mystic Hideaway Mountains across the background. Keeping all masks in place, randomly stamp the Grasses from the Scenery Builders Set. Remove masks and if necessary hand draw with a .01 Micron Black pen any lines that need connecting and add a couple small pines between the birch trees to match the mountains. Color images with pencils, leaving some natural wood showing in the grass field. Color the sky lightly with pencils. Yellow closest to mountains, then pink, then blue at top. Stamp Large Horse 3 times on Neenah Natural (cream) cardstock and die cut all horses out. Color with pencils. Before attaching horses, secure picture hangers on back and attach leather ribbon to hang the plaque. I used 2 bronze colored ideaology clip rings screwed in place with phillips head screws and then ran the leather ribbon through the rings and secured with multiple staples with a TH Tiny Attacher. You can then glue the ends of the ribbon in place with Glossy Accents. When GA is dry, flip project front side up and attach horses using various thickness of foam tape and pop dots to give an illusion of depth.
